JOB OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for the sales, profitability, strategy and day-to-day operations of the Orthopedic Extremities Business Unit globally within the Orthopedics Group. The role is responsible for developing and executing the growth strategy for the global business unit working closely within a dotted line matrix environment together with our consolidated and non-consolidated partners and Henry Schein shared services.
The leader is accountable for leadership, innovation and strategy that will ensure market share growth, new market development and profitability in line with strategic goals and values. The role includes responsibility for leader development, coaching, and tactical direction & support as well as contributing at a senior level to overall corporate strategy.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
Typically 12 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience including direct or indirect sales experience; 7 or more years of management experience including Medical device Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Product Development and Operations Leadership
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.
TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Travel typically less than 20%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.
The posted range for this position is $157,414-$225,919 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
At the time of this posting, this position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range subject to the achievement of the plan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overall P&L accountability for the business unit globally
- Develop and execute the annual business plan
- Lead the senior management team fostering goal achievement, team building, communication and joint problem-solving
- Develop and recommend annual and long-range strategic plans including forecasting and budgeting
- Provide short and long-term vision, strategy and guidance to address competitive and changing market dynamics that results in growth beyond the market average.
- Partner with Business Unit specialists and Corporate/Matrix partners to build and maintain a robust compliance program that ensures transparency and adherence to global laws and regulations
- Build and maintain robust policies, procedures, education and training programs and a culture around transparent and compliant interactions with HCP's
- Develop and maintain appropriate HCP/KOL partnerships focused on Medical Education, R&D/Product Development and Clinical Studies.
- Develop and communicate new strategies and tactics focused on accelerating sales through enhanced use of metric driven management and digital tools
- Translate the vision and objectives of the business to action - prioritizing goals and deliverables, optimizing the organization's structure, processes and service delivery, driving accountability, and building/strengthening the capabilities of the leadership team and organization
- Identify business models and programs to optimize revenue and profit, streamline operations, enhance pricing, and enhance the customer experience.
- Identification, selection, training and mentoring of talent. Develop team members to gain technical depth in key functional areas. Create career and development plans for team members. Ensure the team has bench strength to be positioned to assume roles with additional responsibilities as opportunities arise (plan and execute effective succession planning)
- Monitor staff goals and targets closely to ensure expected progress is being made. Develop metric-driven goals and hold the team accountable to results
- Design and implement standards of accountability that can be used to focus, guide and set high standards of performance to achieve business results
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required
- Identify, evaluate and work closely and collaboratively with partners to execute M&A opportunities.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Leader in healthcare/medical technologies industry with a focus on the orthopedics segment
- Global multi discipline experience is desirable
- General working knowledge of international medical technologies regulations including:
- ISO 9001 and 13485 certification and maintenance
- FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and related medical device regulations
- Interactions with global Competent Authorities and Notified Bodies
- EU MDD and MDR
- International regulatory processes and requirements and governing bodies (i.e. CFDA, MHRA, PMDA, ANVISA, COFEPRIS, etc...
- Experience in regulatory audits and accountability to applicable corrective actions
- Knowledge and experience in managing transparent and compliant HCP interactions, including; establishing FMV, developing fair and equitable contracts, compliant and timely reporting of HCP remuneration per applicable laws and regulations.
