Job Description
The Project Controls Advisor is responsible for overseeing and maintaining aspects of project controls, including cost, schedule, risk, and performance tracking. The advisor plays a key role in guaranteeing the project is delivered on time, within budget, and according to scope and
quality standards. This role involves working closely with project managers, senior leadership, and various project teams to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for the success
of the project.
Position Responsibilities
Develop, monitor, and update project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts
Conduct cost activities, including cost variance analysis and reporting
Secure that the project stays within budget by identifying cost overruns and proposing
corrective actions
Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using applicable platforms and
software
Perform critical path analysis to identify potential risks and/or delays
Work with project teams to guarantee timely execution of milestones and/or deliverables
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, guaranteeing mitigation strategies are in
place
Track and report project performance using key metrics
Provide regular project reports and performance updates to leadership and applicable
parties
Offer proactive recommendations based on performance data to improve project
outcomes
Oversee the change control process, guaranteeing that all project scope changes are
properly documented and approved
Assess the impact of changes on project cost, schedule, and risk, and recommend
adjustments
Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on project status, including cost forecasts,
schedule updates, and risk analysis
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all project control activities
Basic Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration,
or relevant discipline plus a minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls,
preferably in construction, engineering, or large-scale infrastructure projects
P6 Planning, ArcGIS, FME, Juris Doctorate
Proficiency in project control software or similar tools
Strong analytical skills with experience in financial and performance analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications/ Certifications/ Licensures
PMP, AACE, or equivalent preferred
Professional Engineering License
LEED Certified
