Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC) is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of specialty chemicals for food, sanitation, water treatment, legionella control, facility maintenance, restroom order control and industrial cleaning. We are searching for an experienced Senior Distribution Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of distribution centers, ensuring that product is received, stored and shipped in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning and problem-solving skills to optimize the distribution process.

As a Sr Distribution Manager you will:
- Oversee daily distribution center operations including shipping/receiving, order fulfillment and inventory control
- Establish/maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), department goals and drive accountability
- Responsible for all aspects of employee supervision, not limited to-interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Optimize layout and workflow to enhance productivity
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies
- Develop and implement strategies to improve warehouse efficiency and reduce costs
- Ensure that operational and administrative practices result in accurate inventory control - bin location management, order of adjustments, cycle counts, receiving customer returns.
- Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures to ensure proper FIFO stock rotation of finished goods
- Schedule inbound and outbound trucks
- Complete budget and capital equipment proposals
- Control departmental expenses within established budgets and exercise sound fiscal management in Company financial matters
- Establish, document, and communicate distribution processes to ensure customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers and internal departments to streamline logistics
- Negotiate contracts with third-party logistics providers and transportation companies
- Leverage technology to improve inventory management and tracking
- Implement best practices for warehouse automation and data-driven decision making
- Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or other methodologies
- Coordinate the loading of overseas containers, ensure products are properly labeled for sea shipping, prepare and manage documentation for international shipments, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, export declarations, and customs paperwork
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers and carriers to facilitate international shipments
EDUCATION/ SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field
EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management
- 5 years of leadership experience
- Working level knowledge of inventory and materials control policies, procedures and practices, including the fundamentals of shipping, receiving and warehousing
- Proficiency in ERP software and data analytics tools (Dynamics GP or SalesPad preferred)
- Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, TDG
SKILLS:
- Use of a personal computer and related software applications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel
- Experience in lean principles (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Material Flow, Visual Management, Root Cause Problem Solving, etc.)
