To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources. Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages. This role will design and develop data solutions to support the PDS data, analysis, and reporting needs.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Data Warehouse product owner and BSA to thoroughly understand the business user stories
- Work with the Data Architect to accurately interpret the data modeling and design the ETL data flow
- Develop ETL/ELT data pipeline flow to load data from various data sources to the staging database and apply complex business logic to populate normalized and denormalized data structure
- Write efficient and well-performed stored procedures to extract and transform the source data
- Build reusable components for a scalable data integration methodology such as error handling, logging, and recoverability
- Participate in the data modeling / schema design
- Perform and support query development and optimization
Qualifications
- Experienced in database development, OLTP and Data Warehouse/Dimensional
- Proficient in programming languages - SQL
- 3+ years of experiences working with Snowflake
- Experienced in building or maintaining ETL/ELT processes
- Agile Methodologies
- Source Control - Bitbucket/Git/Github
- Experienced with the software development lifecycle
- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
Preferred
- Experiences with Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse ELT tools (dbt or Matillion)
- Experienced in integration of data from disparate sources including 3rd party vendor data and/or API calls
- Experience using Microsoft SSIS
- Experience using Python for data integration and analysis
