We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer to lead the validation and reliability testing of high-voltage distribution components in cutting-edge automotive and EV applications. In this role, you will design and execute comprehensive test plans, develop test benches, and conduct environmental and electrical assessments to ensure safety and performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive root cause analysis and implement solutions, ensuring product integrity throughout development. You Will:
  • Conduct thermal, mechanical, environmental and electrical, testing to assess reliability, functionality and safety
  • Design and set up test benches including jigs and fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for performance evaluation
  • Support development of Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) for high-voltage distribution components, including charge port, connectors and harnesses
  • Serve as the test engineering lead throughout project implementation, ensuring alignment with department management and the project manager
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations, collaborating with design, firmware, mechanical and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.


You Bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in testing high-voltage distribution systems, preferably in the automotive or EV industry
  • Experience with CATIA for 3D modeling
  • Hands-on experience with environmental testing, including vibration, thermal cycling, and ingress protection (IP rating) tests.
  • Highly organized professional with the ability to maintain project schedules and track status to ensure timely completion and efficiency
  • Experience in the definition of validation strategies across various integration level
  • The capability to scientifically analyze verification results and define R&D activities
  • Good Hands-on experience for hardware test and validation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiar with various equipment (force gauge, thermocouples, power supplies, multimeter, hi-pot tester, etc.)


Advantageous:
  • Knowledge of automotive standards ( ISO 19453, UL 9741, UL 2251, USCAR, GMW 3172, etc.)
  • Used Jira for project and work management

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.


Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$140,000-$192,500 USD
