Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Job Description

Performance Engineering is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager with strong technical and people leadership skills to drive quality technical excellence, quality execution, and strategic vision across gas turbine and gas plant thermal performance design & methods in support of NPI, OTR, and ITO. In this role, the selected candidate will lead a global team of performance engineers that provides thermal performance design, transient operability, and thermal performance design tools & methods support and execution. This is an exciting opportunity that blends engineering and commercial aspects to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and drive value across NPI and ITR through innovation and delivery of world-class products and services for our customers while fueling talent development.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, setting clear expectations for the team and ensuring effective communication within the Performance Engineering functions to drive One Team mindset and accountability.
  • Define and maintain Engineering Status and P(50) cycle performance capabilities of all HDGTs for use in product design, customer issue resolution, and sales/marketing support.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver performance design software roadmap aligned with customer program milestones and product specifications inclusive of GTP, GTP Web, and overall gas plant modeling & simulation software applications.
  • Deliver & execute transient operability missions and overall Gas Turbine operability deliverables in support of NPI Design Reviews, test stand and site validation testing, and customer support of installed base issue resolution such as RCA or ER case support.
  • Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long-range needs regarding the advancement of gas turbine thermodynamic performance modeling and characterization.
  • Maintain On Time Delivery (OTD) and First Pass Yields (FPY) key performance indicators at or above target for all steady state and transient performance deliverables.
  • Support the development of performance technical methods and training programs designed to improve the quality and productivity of the organization.
  • Monitor NPI and contractual performance test data, identify performance risks/opportunities, and engage the engineering team to drive action and resolution
  • Support the development and drive the implementation of the performance engineering QMS and Operating Guidelines in the global engineering center.
  • Align the global Performance Engineering and HDPE ITR strategies, priorities, and lean initiatives and drive implementation in global engineering center.
  • Collaborate with associated teams for the continuous development, improvement, and implementation of risk estimation methods and risk management standard work.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in engineering discipline from accredited university
  • 10 years experience in engineering, power generation design/services, or performance engineering
  • Proven experience as an engineering leader with a track record of successfully managing and scaling engineering teams. Minimum 5+ years of team management experience
  • Strong thermal performance experience of gas turbine or combined cycle technology
  • Strong leadership behaviors and ability to interface effectively with all levels of a global organization and external customers
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams

  • Displays strong interpersonal, influencing, collaborative, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Demonstrates ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Should be a change agent. Early creator or adaptor of technology by following industry trends
  • Anticipates internal and external customer needs and ensures that they are met. Measures processes and performance through the customer's eye.


The base pay range for this position is 152,400.00 - 254,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% bonus.
