Position Overview
We're seeking a Senior Manager, Finance & Operations to bring deep financial and operational rigor to our fast-growing, creatively-led agency. You'll serve as a strategic partner to the COO and function leads, overseeing the development, review, and approval of project budgets, developing and maintaining data-driven systems to ensure our cross functional teams operate efficiently, and providing ongoing analysis and forecasting to support key business decisions and investments.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance within an agency environment who's comfortable working cross-functionally with our Accounts, Strategy, Creative departments. You'll help build the tools and systems that empower our teams - such as budget templates, rate cards, and resource forecasting models - gradually shift day-to-day responsibilities to these teams as tools and models mature, while maintaining oversight and approval responsibilities.

Location and Salary

This is a full-time, exempt role with a salary range of $120,000-$150,000, depending on experience. There will be occasions when in-office presence, at either our Echo Park HQ is required based on the needs of the Operations team.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain scalable budget templates and rate cards tailored for social campaigns, retainers, and production scopes
  • Collaborate with account, strategy and creative leads to develop accurate, strategic project budgets that balance creative ambition with margin goals
  • Work with Producers to review and approve project-level budgets, ensuring consistency and profitability
  • Assist COO in quarterly and annual forecasting and margin tracking across clients and departments
  • Maintain financial oversight of all active campaign and retainer budgets
  • Monitor performance against projections, flagging margin risks and proposing real-time course corrections
  • Partner with the COO on client and internal reporting, including profitability by client, department, and service offering
  • Support ongoing operational improvements to workflow, finance systems, and resourcing plans
  • Standardize financial and operational processes across the company, reducing manual input and increasing visibility for leadership
  • Train Producers and other team members on budget tools, approval protocols, and finance best practices
  • Develop internal tools and trackers to streamline workflows and reporting

Qualifications
  • Highly organized, analytical, and proactive, with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • 5-8 years of experience in finance or operations within a creative, advertising, or marketing agency
  • Proven experience creating and managing budgets for digital content creation, developing rate cards, and building financial tracking systems
  • Strong understanding of agency pricing models, scopes of work, and margin management
  • Comfortable working across multiple departments and with varying levels of financial literacy
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, Airtable, Asana, BI and budgeting software/tools (experience with systems like Netsuite, QuickBooks, etc. is a plus)
  • Experience partnering with Producers or Project Managers in a creative or production environment
  • Familiarity with time tracking and resourcing tools
  • A sharp eye for detail and a passion for building repeatable, scalable systems
  • A love of creative work - and a desire to support the business side of bringing that work to life
