Summary:

As the Senior Manager in AWG Support Center's accounting department, this position will oversee a team of professionals that are responsible for various technical and financial related activities in support of the organization's goals and objectives. This position and staff work cross functionally in helping to plan, organize, and execute on assigned projects and initiatives from start to finish. This role will be responsible for assigning and monitoring team resources, collaborating with business partners, and providing management with reporting and updates on project status. Area of oversight includes direct accountability of accounting and finance system security and configuration, as well as developing and monitoring a collection of processes that assist the organization in planning, forecasting, and budgeting to better understand and support financial decisions and insight. Additionally, this role oversees the case management team that is dedicated to creating and maintaining a positive experience/relationship with our vendor partners by providing timely and accurate resolution to vendor inquiries associated with vendor payment status, deduction inquiries and disputes, as well as clarity and insight into any other accounting related requests for service. This role should work closely with internal leaders and staff to identify opportunities for accounting related improvements, including, but not limited to, improved efficiencies, internal controls, more insightful reporting, and project advancement

Position Responsibilities:
  • Determine departmental objectives and requirements, organize projects, and develop standards and guidelines
  • Develop a vision to meet goals and objectives, assist other areas in meeting their goals
  • Provide change control management and oversight for the creation and improvement to financial reports, budget templates and data queries through design, development, and testing with business leaders
  • Oversee progress on financial-related system projects and provide input into areas of concern and direction/redirection to enhance the achievement of project schedules, productivity goals, budgets, and quality
  • Manage all accounting-related production issues with liaison role to IT department
  • Oversee the user security and system configuration for PeopleSoft, Syspro, Blackline, and other systems as required including an understanding of application functionality and data
  • Maintain documentation of system administration, procedures, and design
  • Understand EDI communication standards, monitor activity and oversee any change request, looking for opportunities to enhance processes in other areas utilizing EDI to provide enhanced experience/data
  • Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Researches and implements technological strategic solutions
  • Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects
  • Monitor case dispute trends, reporting, productivity as a tool to work with business partners on root cause resolutions
  • Identify and architect new process improvement opportunities
  • Partner with cross-functional business teams and IT to troubleshoot, research and analyze problems/concerns to resolve issues
  • Execute and deliver on assigned tasks and projects

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business systems or related business field
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to balance and prioritize multiple day-to-day and ongoing projects simultaneously
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
  • Experience developing financial reports and metrics
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, PeopleSoft nVision, Blackline, VBA (Visual Basic) preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), GSuite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and BI Tools (Power Bi, Tableau, etc.)
  • Must be able to research and solve problems
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients
  • Requires the ability to influence, lead, and manage change thoughtfully and positively
  • Previous supervisory experience required
