The Team You Will Join

MetLife Investments Technology is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer.

Join the Metlife Investments technology team for an exceptional opportunity in the Derivatives technology department. As part of our dynamic product development team, you will engage in hands-on work employing the latest Github Co-pilot and AI tools, integrating with Azure Cloud using continuous delivery methodologies of DevSecOps.

What you'll bring:

Strong programming skills in Java and Oracle. Strong understanding of Investments finance with Derivatives would be a plus. A passion for learning new technologies, utilizing AI to increase productivity, excellent communication skills, collaboration and delivering on all project objectives.

The Opportunity

Our Team: Join our Murex product team specializing in derivative business. Participate in legacy modernization efforts, support new business initiatives, and contribute to ongoing growth.

Collaborative Environment: Work closely with the business team of Front office traders, Middle office and Back office users. Also collaborate with Risk and compliance partners

Professional Growth: Support the derivatives business while learning about the different exotic derivative products business supports.

This role primarily focuses on Java and Oracle technologies. You should have a passion for Agile DevOps-enabled software development and infrastructure automation to accelerate the team's delivery of business value.

Required Skills:

  • 4-6 years of experience in the following
    • Must have hands-on software development in implementing Java.
    • Database skills, Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, and/or development knowledge.
    • DevOps pipelines, and/or Infrastructure automation.
    • Software development with strong technical understanding of designing and building enterprise-scale applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.


Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as ability to establish strong relationships across teams to effectively deliver work across the enterprise.
  • Experience in Reference Data, Market Data and Pricing related solutions.
  • Oracle system's experience preferred.
  • Experience with Murex is a big plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial domains, Derivatives preferred.
  • Experience with Agile software development.
  • Experience with test-driven development and continuous testing.
  • Exposure to modern AI concepts such as generative AI, various models of machine learning, large language models, conversational AI (chatbot, etc.).
  • Full stack engineer with ability to write object-oriented, self-documenting, maintainable code.


The salary range for applicants for this position is $100,000 - $140,000.
