POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for a Sr. HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team, with a primary focus on HR compliance, audits, reporting, and supporting payroll and benefits functions. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of HR experience and will work closely with the internal HR team and the Manager, People Operations. This is an on-site position based in Irvine, CA, with working hours from Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the People Operations functions, such as Payroll, Benefits, Commercial Insurance, Compensation, HRIS, Compliance, Budgets, and others. Advise and recommend best practices to leadership to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review biweekly and semi-monthly payroll, including final paychecks, to ensure accuracy, compliance with applicable laws, and alignment with internal policies; identify and escalate discrepancies as needed.
- Serve as the backup for both payroll processing and benefits administration to support business continuity during absences, peak periods, or as needed.
- Maintain and regularly update the employee handbook to reflect changes in federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Monitor compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, ensuring policies and procedures are current and effectively communicated.
- Coordinate and manage all mandatory state and federal trainings (e.g., harassment prevention, workplace safety), tracking completion and ensuring timely delivery across all locations.
- Support internal audits and compliance reviews by gathering required documentation and maintaining accurate records of HR practices and policies.
- Lead in the development and communication of new HR policies and procedures to support compliance and organizational alignment.
- Partner with legal, HR leadership, and department heads to address compliance gaps and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
- Coordinate internal and external audits in partnership with vendors and the Corporate Finance team, ensuring timely submission of required documentation and resolution of audit inquiries related to HR, payroll, and compliance.
- Responsibilities may evolve based on organizational needs and leadership direction; other related duties may be assigned as part of ongoing department or company restructuring.
- A minimum of 5 years of HR management experience with strong proficiency in Payroll & Benefits.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools. (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
- HR certifications preferred.
