Position Summary:

Responsible for leading the Human Resources efforts for the Nestle R&D Center for Baby Food Meals & Drinks, through effective organizational design and execution of Human Resources strategy. As a member of the R&D Center Leadership Team, drive the development and execution of a talent strategy, shaping culture, acting as a change advocate, and driving strategic organizational transformations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Active member of the SBU Nutrition HR Team providing input and influence into the SBU Nutrition people and culture strategy.
  • Active member of the R&D Center Leadership Team responsible for nurturing culture, developing people, and delivering new product, process & packaging solutions aligned with business strategy.
  • Design and execute data driven talent strategy for the R&D Center. Driving the alignment and execution of key people strategies that attract, train and retain employees to support the organization's short and long-term business goals.
  • Shape R&D Center culture by ensuring the organization clearly communicates strategic plans, recognizes employees and inspires them to continuously improve in all elements of culture to include diversity & inclusion. Proactively develop initiatives to drive employee engagement, enablement and positive retention. Assess and communicate results based on climate data, pulse data and other feedback vehicles.
  • Continuously improve employee leadership by engaging leaders to think strategically beyond day-to-day operations. Coordinate leadership programs to drive a high-performance leadership culture. Assess, develop and facilitate training sessions on human capital topics and coordinate with relevant L&OD partners to deliver content based on the business need.
  • Cultivating an achievement-focused organizational climate that empowers its people and drives growth for the organization.
  • Managing the coordination and execution of workforce planning for the organization.
  • Overseeing/providing flawless execution of all Human Resources initiatives while acting as a catalyst of change where appropriate.
  • Proactively challenge the established organizational structure to drive superior performance.
  • Providing alternate solutions on business issues to achieve the most effective solutions taking into account the Nestle principles, policies and business unit goals.
  • Utilizing the performance, talent, and succession planning management systems to help drive the achievement of company goals through objective and development plan setting, performance calibration, and talent development.
  • Providing counsel and guidance to Leadership on all people management and development and perform investigations when required.
  • Monitoring Employee Relations practices to ensure compliance with Corporate, Federal, State and Local rules and regulations while providing guidance to management to help maintain a proactive employment environment.
  • Member of a local US HR team and global R&D HR team working to develop HR practice and process developments that enhance the HR contribution to the business. Utilize continuous improvement in HR to develop functional efficiencies and ways or working.

Experience and education requirements
  • BS/BA Degree required with a focus Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Communication, or Industrial Psychology preferred.
  • Master's Degree level preferred in Human Resources Management, Business, Organizational Communication, or Industrial Psychology field.
  • PHR or SPHR through HRCI/SHRM certification strongly preferred.
  • 7-10 years' experience in Human Resources/Employee Relations. Human Resource experience must include HR Generalist, operational experience and change leadership/cultural development focus.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, Investigation Skills, HR technical knowledge in EEO, AA, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and worker's compensation.

Skills:
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and an HRIS system (ie. PeopleSoft or SAP).
  • Must have strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Must be able to work with all levels of employees and management within the organization and to gain trust at all levels
  • Must possess good presentation and facilitation skills
