Product Subject Matter Expert
Our Product Subject Matter Exp ert (SME) must be knowledgeable about our product and will continue to understand how to translate our product features and functionality into the business process for our clien ts to get their job done. Product SMEs take pleasure in finding creative solutions within the bounds of the product that increase the value of final products so that end-users and stakeholders are delighted with the results. When that solution cannot be found within the bounds of the current product feature set, our Product SMEs must be capable of gathering the requirements from the client and communicat ing with the Product Manager to assist in the Design of the feature to deliver a first-class feature that will make both Tyler and the client proud .

Product SMEs function as a combination of Solution Architects, Configuration Analysts, Business Analysts, and Business Process Analysts . They must have the skills to be able to provide polished demonstrations for the products they represent . A Product SME must be able to employ the latest techniques in addition to time-tested analyst methodologies and be adept at elicitation practices such as interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, facilitated workgroups, and more. Additionally, they must be experts at requirements analysis and software lifecycle documentation, and able to craft business process descriptions to guide developers and satisfy end-user desires. Their abilities must extend to creating document findings in a format that ranges from use cases, user stories, scenarios, functional requirements, UML models, data models, and workflow analysis concisely so that our technical team can turn them into reality in our product framework. Product SMEs must have the polish, confidence, and ability to interact with clients and senior team members from various organizations in the firm, industry, and government communities.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external clients , and internal team members to analyze project needs and functional requirements and deliver the plan on how to deliver the project within the bounds of the product set of features.
  • Handle all client demonstration needs during a project for a client and have the ability to show any product features new and existing and how they will be used for the client in their project.
  • Act as the product expert regarding fulfilling project requirements, and expertly handle any gathering and documenting of the requirements needed for the iterative development and communication of the business needs between the client and the product team.
  • Understanding the current state of the client organization while at the same time, tracking to the vision of where a client organization wants to be (As is/to be)
  • Develop that understanding to serve as a basis for the later identification of business needs and to define solutions that meet business needs, goals, or objectives
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Work independently with end-users to define concepts, and under the direction of project managers
  • Represents Tyler Technologies in the most positive manner with prospective, former, and current clients, suppliers, and the community we serve
  • Interacts effectively with a diverse group of staff, clients, and other customers of our services learns and uses operating practices of the department and Tyler Technologies


Qualifications
  • 5-7 years' (or more) experience as a Business or Systems Analyst
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in product configuration and implementation
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Extensive experience documenting software requirements, and associated methodologies
  • Very strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret client business needs and formulate a plan to implement those needs with the product feature set
  • Very str ong requirement analysis skills for analyzing and developing any feature sets needed to implement client functionality as required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse client group including; executives, managers , and internal product teams.
  • Able to create swim-lane diagrams and other process documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • Must have the ability to interact with clients and senior staff members from various organizations in the firm, industry, and government communities
  • Experience with Case Management and /or Professional and Occupational licensure software solutions similar to Tyler Technologies, Application Platform/Regulatory Business Unit preferred
  • Knowledge of relational database terminology modeling and design techniques
  • 5+ years of experience aligning the needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by information technology
  • Extensive experience facilitating formal JAD Sessions, or other Requirements Discovery/Elicitation and Design workgroups
  • Able to connect the project's objectives with the organization strategic goals
  • Able to facilitate a large group of multidiscipline participants to agree on common objectives using advanced facilitation techniques to brainstorm, reduce conflicts, and identify solutions
  • Expert at eliciting the actual needs of stakeholders, not simply their expressed desires
  • Experience with professional and occupational licensing boards/commissions preferred.
  • Experience with Case Management and/or Professional and Occupational licensure software solutions similar to Tyler Technologies, Application Platform/Regulatory Business Unit preferred
