Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for Labor Management Systems and playing a key role in developing and maintaining the engineered labor standards program for the Distribution Centers. This position is also responsible for maintaining the LMS program including analyzing, documenting, and establishing engineered labor standards for all relevant job functions. Additionally, this role contributes to analytics, process improvement, technology, and automation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

  • Validate work standards and measurements through work sampling, time studies, and analysis.
  • Conduct formal standards audits to meet the prescribed schedule of standards review.
  • Complete engineering analyses of proposed changes to DC operations and develop appropriate adjustments to engineered standards. Update all operating labor standards whenever a new process is introduced, or an existing process is changed
  • Develop and document procedures and work flows that promote productivity, safety, and quality while working with other departments including distribution operations, training, and Human Resources
  • Provide guidance, leadership and training support for the Labor Management program to the Distribution Center management teams
  • Assist in building staffing and planning models to aid in DC management and distribution network planning. Help establish appropriate metrics and reports to guide Supply Chain Management
  • Maintain and distribute documentation of labor productivity and individual Team Member performance, procedures, and training materials, and support their execution
  • Analyze and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Work with Logistics Process Improvement Managers (LPIM) to assess operations and functions, identify improvement opportunities by analyzing problems, then assist with creating and implementing solutions
  • Assist internal TSC partners in the assessment, design, and implementation of Distribution Centers, material handling systems, and process flows
  • Work closely with DC slotting analysts to ensure optimal performance of slotting systems and procedures
  • Support TSC internal partners by helping define which operating indicators should be tracked on a regular basis
  • Establish the intake, data entry, and reporting tools/processes for sustained monitoring
  • Provide functional support for the Warehouse Management System suite, including Labor Management, Slotting, and reporting. Assist DC personnel in resolving related systemic and/or operational issues


Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience, preferably in distribution, with 3 years of direct experience managing warehouse management systems and formal labor management programs.

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a STEM field. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered

Professional Certifications: Maynard Most preferred

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of advanced WMS and LMS software applications, work standards programs, and formal labor productivity tracking and incentive programs
  • Direct experience leading and managing implementation of WMS and LMS programs, including knowledge of work measurement techniques and performance incentive plans
  • Ability and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, flowcharting and process documentation, project scheduling and reporting, and cost/benefit analysis and capital expenditure justification
  • Ability to develop, write and enforce policies and procedures
  • Ability to work as a team leader and to work independently, positively handle conflict, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to write and present policies, procedures, and executive summaries and reports to all levels of the TSC team from on-the-floor operators to key executives
  • Display detail-oriented approach to work and skill in project management
  • Ability to work overtime and travel up to 50%
