Description:
This position is for a Senior Infrastructure Solution Architect/Engineer to assist the State of Michigan with development of the Hyper Converged Infrastructure technology stack. This will include automation for the deployment in the Hyper Converged Infrastructure solutions.
This position will work with a team of highly skilled engineers to configure, secure, and support the Hyper Converged infrastructure. As a member of the State of Michigan IT Design Services team, the Senior Infrastructure Solution Architect/Engineer is responsible for following the State of Michigan policies.
We are looking for a collaborative team player that is comfortable supporting a hybrid workforce at all levels of the organization. Applicants should possess exceptional analytical, communication and follow up skills along with an understanding of the Agile framework.

Basic Duties:
- Unix system adminitration; Install, configure, and administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Creation, maintenance, execution of system/adminitrative scripts using Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible
- Creation of scripts in Ansible playbooks and scripts to automate software provisioining, configuration management and application deployment.
- Deploy and administer software defined storage.
- Work with the Devops and Secops to maintain effeciencies and security.
- Work with CICD, containers, Docker, Kubernetes and/or OpenShift deployments and support.
- Oversee and direct set up for Hyperconverged environments; includes maintenance, resolving issues with configuration management and networking concepts.
- Identify, interpret and troubleshoot a Hyperconverged environment logs. Provide resolution of conflicts, connectivity and security issues.
- Performing security testing such vulnerability assessments or penetration tests to identify security misconfigurations or vulnerable software.
- Remediate security issues identified by vulnerability assessments or penetration tests.
- Design and approve implementation of new Hyperconverged infrastructure technologies.
- Monitor and troubleshoot the the States Hyperconverged technologies that supports our Container platform and agency applications. Provide resolution of configuration, connectivity and security issues.
- Work with stakeholders from various agencies to assist and develop migration plans.
- Execute Requests for Change (RFC) within the agency as it relates to the Container platform environment.
- Design, implement and operate systems with adherance to industry compliance such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, ISO and identify policy violations.
- Install and support network, hardware and software architecture required to support the infrastructure for agencies applications.
- Perform custom coding for Infrastructure as Code.
- Prepare information for presentations for the Hyperconverged infrastructure.
- Mentor staff on tips, techniques and best practices to be utilized for the infrastructure environment.
- Perform related work as is deemed necessary by the supervisor.
- Inform management of issues and risks as they arise and statuses in a timely manner as they change.
- Participate in any DTMB or statewide IT initiatives as necessary, appropriate, and required by supervisor.
