Customer
- Provide specialized technology-related build support, ensuring the service meets or exceeds established standards/service levels while minimizing operational risk.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to schedule packaging and release new applications promptly, reducing change execution times through parallel work streams.
- Enhance the stability of the production environment by working closely with stakeholders to set up, maintain, and monitor applications/systems, ensuring availability targets are met.
- Ensure timely notification and escalation of potential issues, providing options and recommendations for prompt resolution, and communicate project status effectively.
- Deliver effective and defect-free support by researching system issues/opportunities, overseeing recommendations, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Interact with clients to provide quality service/solutions consistent with objectives and client requirements.
- Design, review, and integrate all application requirements, including functional, security, integration, performance, quality, and operations.
- Identify and address application and data issues affecting application integrity.
- Consult with other functional areas to provide technical expertise on specialized technology, trends, and processes.
- Participate in projects aimed at evolving the base infrastructure, deploying new technologies, or optimizing the operational environment.
- May build and deploy base infrastructure components such as servers, operating systems, and middleware for all environments.
- May be involved in the deployment of applications and procurement of supported assets.
- Maintain base infrastructure components current and defect-free, liaising with third-party vendors to report problems and receive fixes.
- Schedule changes to supported components per approved change management procedures, implementing changes with proper testing and minimal business impact.
- Respond to information requests and assist project teams in evaluating alternate approaches.
- Develop working relationships with third-party vendors as required to fulfill support requirements.
Shareholder
- Monitor system lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions.
- Assess and analyze optimization opportunities to improve performance and/or resource utilization.
- Ensure effective change management discipline is used.
- Assist in maintaining secure computing facilities and technical infrastructure/architecture to support clients and applications.
- Adhere to existing processes, standards, business technology architecture, risk, and production capacity guidelines.
- Follow standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with Disaster Recovery and Business Recovery Plans.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance revenue, customer experience, and/or reduce costs.
- Comply with well-defined enterprise technology delivery practices and standards and project management disciplines.
- Utilize cost management processes effectively within the unit.
- Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in services, applications, infrastructure, analytical tools, and techniques for effective solution development/delivery.
- Stay current with industry and/or business trends.
- Perform testing according to test plans, monitor and report on results, and collaborate on problem resolution.
- Support the development of business cases, RFI/RFP, and service level agreements with vendors/suppliers as needed.

- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting/problem resolution.
- Lead support for highly complex applications/systems and/or business lines.
- Identify root causes and implement targeted remediation plans.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and administer business applications/systems in coordination with stakeholders.
- Review, participate, and implement procedures.
- Research industry standards, best practices, and new innovations in technology, making recommendations.
- Generally reports to a Manager or Senior Manager.
- Design and configure Cybervault environment with LPARs, DASD, and network.
- Set up monitoring and maintain the new environment to demonstrate availability of immutable copy restore points.
- Create documentation needed for Operations, Audit, and governance to support this environment.
Experience & Education
- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- zOS skills related to DASD Storage, GDPS, hyperswap, and data management.
- DS8K hardware configuration and implementation, including Hyperswap and Remote copy.
- Hitachi DASD awareness.
- GDPS configuration for DASD and VTL.
- Monitoring metrics critical to DASD and VTL environments, including setting up a standalone monitoring environment.
- Using IBM GDPS products to manage Points in time under LCP control.
- zOS Skills for IPLing LPARs in an LCP environment.
- Fluent in English with the ability to create technical documents to support environments and processes.
