Fortinet is looking for an experienced IT Systems Engineer specializing in OpenStack to join our innovative IT team. In this important role, you will be responsible for the development, delivery, and ongoing operation of our OpenStack-based private cloud platform and virtualization infrastructure.
Your expertise in Linux Administration, datacenter virtualization, and support for production environments will be key to maintaining the security and stability of our cloud systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, deliver, and manage an OpenStack-based private cloud platform, ensuring secure and efficient data handling.
- Administer Linux servers (Ubuntu, RedHat, OEL, CentOS) in production environments, maintaining optimal system performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively, minimizing disruption and ensuring reliability.
- Provide technical leadership and documentation, supporting a collaborative environment of knowledge sharing across teams.
- Provide on-call support as needed to address urgent issues and ensure system stability.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required to meet the operational needs of the team.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in managing and operating production platforms.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, system hardware, and infrastructure.
- Expertise in OpenStack administration and private cloud management.
- Advanced skills in Linux server administration (Ubuntu, RedHat, OEL, CentOS).
- Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, VMware).
- Familiarity with deployment automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Saltstack, custom scripting).
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Excellent multitasking ability, with a track record of working effectively both independently and within a team.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts.

Educational Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or a technical diploma combined with relevant work experience.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $95,000 - $130,000 Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion
