About This Role:
Oversee and provide leadership to a team of two direct reports, including a part-time librarian and a part-time library assistant.
Assist patrons with library services, including reference inquiries, circulation tasks, and reader's advisory.
Promotes library services and resources and assists customers with basic technology to include public computers, personal devices, email and internet help, copier, scanning, and printing assistance, use of library hotspots and other library issued technology.
Develop and facilitate in-branch staff training in coordination with the Information Services Manager.
Coordinates branch outreach efforts in the immediate community.
Maintains an assigned section of the adult collection, evaluating items for weeding and rebalancing according to system policy, and promotes materials through displays.
May serve as a passport acceptance agent if eligible

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in library or information science and 1 year of library experience to include supervisory experience.

Preferences:
Public library experience
Supervisory experience, to include scheduling, hiring, and training performance management and the discipline process
Experience with collection management, including weeding and rebalancing a floating collection
Experience providing excellent customer service including in both information and circulation services.
Experience in designing and delivering engaging programs for children, young adults, and/or adults.
Experience planning outreach events
Experience in budget preparation and tracking

Special Requirements:
The position requires travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.

Work Schedule:
This is a full time, exempt position located at the Haymarket Gainesville Library.
Library hours of operation are Monday - Wednesday, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, and Thursday - Saturday, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The schedule includes days, one evening per week, and rotating Saturdays. Schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library.

Starting Salary Range:
$70,921.50 - $84,444.75 / annually
