Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Sr. Linux Systems Administrator position supporting DISA's GSM-O contract at Ford Island, HI.
The candidate will maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems Redhat Linux, Oracle Solaris, and Windows Server supporting a global network management system supporting the DoD's backbone network. Be familiar with performing based on service level agreement (SLA). Work is performed based on the customer Accepted Quality Level. Candidate is familiar performing within a fixed price, performance-based environment where performance is based on pre-determined Service Level Agreement's (SLA's) or Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL's). Candidate is required to support the development, documentation and tracking of measurements and metrics relevant to the AQL's.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use advanced knowledge Elastic and Kibana (ELK) to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
- Be able to work in a rapid paced environment and must be able to work independently.
- Work independently to maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
- Analyze and set up administrator and service accounts, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
- Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
- Evaluate and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
- Provides support on a M-F business hours schedule, also responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergencies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Requires BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
- COMPTIA Security +CE prior to start.
- Linux, Apache, Tomcat, firewalls, network security protocols, databases, UNIX-related network services, TCP/IP networking, DNS, HTTP(s)
- System configuration and administration, load balancing, scaling, monitoring, understanding of Linux kernel primitives (namespaces, cap, cgroups, etc.), core operating systems including network setup and maintenance, network security, and distributed file systems
- Jenkins and GitLab pipelines
- Containerization (Hashicorp ecosystem and Kubernetes)
- Artifact and code storage solutions
- Ability to code in at least one programming language and familiarity with bash scripting
- Oracle Certified Expert, Oracle Database Administrator Certified Master
- Clearance: Top Secret prior to start
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working Knowledge of the COMIT/PCR-360 Application
- Experience with MS Office Experience and/or Crystal Reports or similar/related technology qualification
- CISSP or similar certification (IAT III 8570 compliance)
