The Senior Logistics Manager fulfills the mission of the Hope the Rescue Mission by overseeing two components of Operations:
  • Warehouse Manager: Responsible for receiving and processing incoming supplies and materials, picking and delivering orders from warehouse stock, managing inventory and warehouse systems, managing orders to completion, conducting necessary safety trainings for warehouse staff, creating and implementing policies to support growth and operations.
  • Fleet Manager: Leading the fleet team to pick up and deliver goods to the correct location, ensure drivers receive proper training to uphold safe driving standards, establish optimal routes, establish appropriate policies, management of vehicle repairs and all fleet related issues.

  • Primary Duties Include:
  • Ensure adherence to company's best practices and process by conducting regular warehouse and fleet audits.
  • Management of collection routes and driver/team performance daily.
  • Recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet.
  • Developing efficient driver schedules to maximize profits.
  • Management of drivers on adherence to strict schedules.
  • Monitoring of driver behavior and ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency.
  • Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles.
  • Management of end-of-day check-in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety, and equipment issues.
  • Weekly reviews of demand/volume for routes and supplies. Determines potential gains from re-routing and recommends re-routes to Operations senior management.
  • Documents and maintains records required by regulatory agencies such as Department of Transportation, OSHA, etc.
  • Works with Operations management and HR to resolve employee relations and labor relations issues.
  • Reports all incidents to Operations management and the Director of Risk and Safety
  • Ensures set-up errors and missed pickups are reported and resolved.
  • Assists with personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, discipling, training, and evaluating employee performance.
  • Provides input into employee termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Promote positive teamwork and safe working behaviors.
  • Oversight of fleet compliance by ensuring daily inspections of all vehicles that are governed under the Federal and State regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for forklift training, maintenance, and safety.
  • Responsible for baler machine training, maintenance, and safety.
  • Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
  • Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing, inspections, purchases, and leases.
  • Responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with all regulatory agency requirements for driver and fleet compliance.
  • Ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules.
  • Performs regular internal audits to assess and ensure optimal logistics processes and safety practices are followed.
