Description:
The Sr. Manager, Category Management plays a critical role in delivering on Tatte's brand purpose - to inspire, care for, and nurture life every day - by leading category management strategies that drive profitable growth and guest satisfaction. This individual is responsible for executing, reporting and continuously optimizing Tatte's category management initiatives, pricing, and menu performance across food, beverage, bakery, and retail categories. This role will lead the reporting and analysis of the core menu, category growth strategies, pricing, menu mix reporting, and test & learn initiatives. The Sr. Manager serves as a key cross-functional partner in shaping menu category and growth strategies aligned with Tatte's brand values, mission, and business goals.
Summary of Responsibilities
Category Management Analysis & Reporting:
Lead all category management analysis, reporting, and insights, including product mix analysis by channel, daypart, weekday/weekend, region, bundling, attachment, churn, and innovation launches.
Conduct Menu Engineering and Menu Matrix analysis to identify margin and volume opportunities.
Execute and report on margin optimization initiatives across all categories, leveraging pricing, product mix, bundling, attachment, and churn insights.
Partner with Culinary and Brand teams to optimize the Core, Seasonal, and Holiday Menu Strategy.
Manage reporting on the menu rollout calendar, ensuring alignment across functions and flawless execution.
Build and implement test-and-learn frameworks to evaluate new products, promotional concepts, and merchandising tactics.
Partner with analytics function to lead reporting on all A/B testing, pre-post testing analysis.
Pricing Strategy:
Lead menu pricing analysis and execution across all Tatte markets, balancing guest value perception with margin goals.
Develop and manage market-tiered pricing strategies; identify margin expansion opportunities while protecting brand equity.
Partner with Analytics to assess pricing elasticity, competitive positioning, and guest value perception.
Strategic Growth Initiatives:
Identify and champion category growth initiatives across all menu categories and channels.
Lead post-mortem analysis of holiday and promotional launches, delivering actionable insights and recommendations for future launches.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with Culinary and Insights teams to gather guest feedback and inform modifier optimization.
Mentor Analytics team members to strengthen category reporting tools and identify growth opportunities
Coordinate with Marketing to drive effective merchandising strategies and measure campaign performance.
Support Key Initiatives (KI) projects from planning through post-mortem analysis.
Other duties, as assigned.
Working Conditions / Essential Functions
Ability to travel 20% +/-
Availability to work Monday through Friday.
Ability to sit for extended periods
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in category management, pricing, and/or strategy.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the restaurant, retail, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries.
Experience in market research strongly preferred.
Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable addressing both small and large groups.
Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, including with stakeholders who do not report directly to you.
Ability to independently manage workload, meet deadlines, and drive results aligned with brand goals.
Ability to work independently, self-starter and hold self-accountable to goals and deadlines.
Strong proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Skills
Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Quicksight, Power BI, Tableau).
Familiarity with POS/BOH systems such as Toast or Crunchtime.
Experience with guest research, consumer insights, and menu/product testing.
