    Primary Responsibilities

    The Senior Manager of Data Engineering and Analytics is responsible for driving the development of KeHE digital products and platforms in our data engineering and analytics arena acting as a key innovator and contributor to the ultimate success of the products. This role will serve as the customer proxy responsible for working with Product teams and other stakeholders along with applying extensive problem solving and analytical skills to identify, solution, and document business needs. This position will provide strategic enterprise data technical vision (3-5 years out) while directing immediate tactical data architecture initiatives. Additionally, the position will ensure the overall quality of technology data implementations across multiple domains, including data management, data integration, data quality, data reporting, and data analytics supporting multiple business units, development and operations managers, and their teams.     Essential Functions

    DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Owns the Solution Architecture and ensures best practices and internal processes are followed when solutions are designed and implemented.
    • Creates and manages standards and templates to streamline the data pipelines and engineering processes.
    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams for effective management of the Data and Analytics environment.
    • Leads and manages engineering teams in timely delivery of products working closely with product and stakeholders.
    • Manages identification of data sources, provides data flow diagrams, and documents source to target mapping and process.
    • Effectively leads and collaborates with engineering and database teams respectively to manage the data warehouse performance by optimizing batch processing through parallelization, performance tuning, aggregations etc.
    • Recognizes and adopts best practices in developing analytical insights including data integrity, analysis, test design, validation, and documentation.
    • Proactively promotes data quality and security through recommended approaches and practices.
    • Creates a collaborative environment where different options are valued and encouraged.
    • Provides guidance and mentor team members.
    • Stays up to date with current with data trends and technological innovations
    • Executes on POC's with new technologies, drive innovation, and new ideas
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.


    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
    • Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks with overlapping time frames and facilitate construction of 90-day forecast.
    • Ability and experience in leading teams.
    • Strong understanding of data modeling (i.e. conceptual, logical and physical model design, experience with Operation Data Stores, Enterprise Data warehouses and Data Marts).
    • Strong experience and knowledge with business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices including multi-dimensional modelling (star schemas, snowflakes, de-normalized models, handling "slow changing" dimensions).
    • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and report simultaneously across different stakeholders.
    • Expert knowledge on T-SQL / DAX.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
    • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to learn and apply new technologies to business problems.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience.
    • 12+ years of direct experience using databases, including Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server
    • 12+ years hands-on experience developing with SQL, PL/SQL, SSIS, SSAS (Tabular), PowerBI
    • 12+ years of Cloud architecture experience, preferably in AWS (Azure or Google will also be considered) with expertise in Python, Pyspark, Glue, Athena, Lamdas and Step Functions.
    • Minimum of 4 years' experience managing teams.
