Sr. Manager, Demand Planning

Location: Columbia, SC

The Sr. Manager, Demand Planning will lead the development and execution of demand planning processes to ensure optimal forecast accuracy, inventory management, and alignment with business objectives. This role combines strategic thinking, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, with an emphasis on using SAP APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization) to enhance demand planning processes and build alignment across teams.

What you will do:

• Develop accurate, data-driven demand forecasts using historical sales data, customer and market insights, and predictive models.
• Utilize SAP APO Demand Planning (DP) modules to streamline forecasting processes and ensure reliability.
• Lead monthly demand plannings meetings with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align on a unified demand plan.
• Mediate differing perspectives to ensure forecasts reflect both market realities and operational capabilities.
• Promote transparency and foster trust in the demand planning process.
• Ensure inventory levels balance cost efficiency and service level goals.
• Partner with procurement, production, and logistics teams to ensure demand plans align with supply capabilities.
• Oversee the optimization, and training for SAP APO and other demand planning tools.
• Continuously improve demand planning processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead and mentor a team of demand planners, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Promote best practices in demand planning and consensus-building methodologies.
• Track and improve key metrics, including forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and customer service levels.
• Present data-driven insights to stakeholders and recommend actionable strategies.

The ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ years of experience in demand planning, supply chain or related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, business, statistics, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with SAP APO, minimum of 3 years.
• Proficiency in Excel, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and predictive analytics.
• Knowledge of complementary tools like SAP IBP, Oracle Demantra, or Kinaxis is a plus.
• Proven success in roles requiring cross-functional collaboration and consensus building.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for remote employees.
• APICS Certification (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD) is highly desirable.
