Job Description Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in Lamb Weston's International growth. The Sr Manager of North American Export Operations will be responsible for driving results within their team, creating procedural and system efficiencies, and ensuring compliant transactions. This is a functional leadership role over export documentation generation, documentation systems management (e.g. SAP GTS), destination country requirements, and export filings. The Sr Manager will be the subject matter expert on US and CA export filing requirements and will coordinate closely with trade partners to ensure transactional accuracy. This role will also provide training and guidance for their team, developing and deploying procedures.

Job Description
  • Functional leadership of all LW NA export activities (i.e. finished goods, samples, etc.)
  • Delivers accurate and compliant documentation to meet customers' requirements.
  • Reviews, develops and implements standardized export procedures.
  • Manage relationships with freight forwarders and monitors performance through KPI's and compliance assessments.
  • Responsible for transactional record keeping and maintenance requirements
  • Generates preferential and non-preferential certificates of origin.
  • Proactively identifies export risks and coordinates with Global Trade Compliance.
  • Leads and collaborates on initiatives contributing to continuous improvement and value-added opportunities to improve efficiency, minimize risks, and reduce costs, making recommendations concerning these matters.
  • Understands and follows export licensing requirements.
  • Provides operational export training.
  • Conducts periodic compliance checks on export transactions and coordinates with Global Trade Compliance with any concerns.
  • Works in conjunction with the Global Trade Compliance and International Regulatory Compliance teams to monitor and assess changing and emerging industry regulations applicable to export activities.
  • Assists with record keeping collection and requirements to ensure audit compliance satisfaction.
  • Proactively identifies and implements measures to address efficiency and compliance opportunities.
  • Assists with internal compliance assessments of export risk, implement process improvements, and effectively communicates with leadership.
  • Leads a team of export professionals while providing continual training and development opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Certifications: (Required & Preferred)
  • BA or BS in similar or related field required (e.g. Int. Business, Supply Chain, Trade Systems, etc.)


Skills and Experience:
  • 7+ years of export management experience required.
  • Experience building and leading an effective export operations team.
  • Freight Forwarding experience in the NA is a plus.
  • Experience with high volume exports from multiple ports in NA.
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain/logistics processes, international trade systems (e.g. CBP ACE), and ability to clearly communicate with leadership.
  • Experience working in and developing export functionality in SAP S4 and SAP GTS a plus.
  • Significant experience understanding, communicating and applying export control laws and regulations.
  • Clear understanding of ECCN and HS classifications, dual use implications, export licensing adherence, and export filing requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on project work and efficiently bring projects to completion.
  • Ability to travel to other sites to provide operational and compliance training and assistance.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and ability to gather and make inferences of data under analysis and identify trends in operational statistics or financial records
  • Excellent time-management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
  • Valid Driver's License and driving record that meets Lamb Weston Driving Standards

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $110,610.00 - $165,920.00
