About the Role:

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for leading all processes related to the procurement of goods and services in support of Wabash manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include development of robust purchasing processes, maintaining and developing positive supplier relationships, coordinating with internal customers regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leading a team of Purchasing Managers, Purchasing Supervisors, and Buyers tasked with management of the direct procurement activities supporting all product value streams and manufacturing locations at Wabash.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, team leadership, and strong supply chain and procurement management skills.
  • Key member of the SIOP teams for each product value stream.
  • Works to optimize and automate key purchasing processes and activities including:
  • Order Management
  • Requirement review: SIOP Process Support
  • Order Placement: MRP, Schedule Agreements, Spot Buys
  • Issue Resolution: Invoice Discrepancies, etc.
  • Supplier Engagement
  • Capacity Planning and Forecasting
  • Oversee supply chain effectiveness, vendor risk and vendor performance
  • Supplier Disruption Resolution
  • Escalation management
  • Supplier Charge Back/Cost Recovery
  • Supplier Change Request Management
  • Relationship development
  • Inventory Management
  • Management of raw material inventory levels enterprise wide
  • Ownership of Raw Material Inventory dollars, Days on Hand, and Excess Inventory KPIs
  • By product value stream
  • By individual buyer deck
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels to support current and future business needs.
  • Formal 1:1 engagement with Key direct reports, to review key department and performance development initiatives.
  • Consistently provides feedback and direction to direct reports to promote employee development, engagement, and business knowledge.
  • Manage team performance, coach, motivate and train, set priorities and develop KPI's for the Purchasing Managers and Buyers.
  • Leads the rollout and implementation of process improvements, and system and procedure changes as necessary to meet changing business requirements and to operate with optimal efficiency.
  • Fosters close working relationship with key functional areas such as Sales, Scheduling, Engineering, Production and Quality
  • Asserts influence throughout the company
  • Other duties as assigned

Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:
  • College Degree / Major Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or Finance
  • Prefer 3-7 years of related experience
  • Strong knowledge of MRP Systems and Database including but not limited to: SAP, AS400, Coupa
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft products
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
  • Encourages creativity, collaboration and risk taking
  • Maintains a growth mindset, pursues continued learning
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient in problem-solving and use of data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • APICS/SCM Certification (preferred)
