Summary

We have a current opportunity for a Senior Supply Chain Manager located at our facility in Goleta, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for leading strategic and tactical procurement initiatives, ensuring material availability, optimizing supplier performance, and managing end-to-end supply chain activities to support both commercial and government space programs. You will ensure compliance with aerospace industry regulations, contractual requirements, and quality management systems such as AS9100. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace or defense manufacturing, supplier development, and cross-functional leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the company's integrated supply chain strategy, aligned with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards and customer mission objectives
  • Manage Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) programs and Supplier Performance Management (SPM) to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and cost targets
  • Partner with Program Management, Engineering, and Operations to drive Design for Supply Chain (DfSC) and early supplier engagement for New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Create, evaluate, and report on supply chain KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full), PPV (Purchase Price Variance), supplier lead times, and inventory turnover
  • Manage long-lead procurement planning, make/buy analysis, and material requirements planning (MRP) in alignment with program timelines
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including single-source suppliers, geopolitical impacts, and ITAR/EAR compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS), Government Property Management, and flow-down of contract requirements
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause/corrective action methodologies
  • Oversee materials management functions including inventory control, material traceability, kitting, and logistics
  • Support audits and reporting requirements for DCMA, NASA, DoD, and other space customers
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and collaboration
  • Travel to support supplier assessments, qualifications, and strategic sourcing initiatives

Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in aerospace, defense, or space systems supply chain management
  • Proven experience working within a regulated environment (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR/EAR, NASA-STD-8739)
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Deltek Costpoint
  • Strong knowledge of Subcontracts Management, Government Procurement, and Source Selection processes
  • Expertise in material planning, logistics, and supplier development
  • US Citizenship or US persons required due to government contracts

Desired Skills
  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex projects under tight deadlines
  • Experience with Space Qualified Hardware, aerospace materials, and component-level sourcing

Pay Range
$152,650 K - $185K/yr.

How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
