Position Summary:
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and enhancing manufacturing equipment and processes for both new and existing heat transfer products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical specifications for new and existing equipment and processes involved in manufacturing heat transfer products.
- Identify and qualify suppliers to meet project and equipment specifications.
- Collaborate with Management, Design Engineering, and Production departments to determine project specifications and procedures, such as welding manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Prepare cost estimates and project plans for new equipment and processes.
- Work with Design Engineering to develop routings for heat exchanger components and assemblies.
- Perform calculations to verify equipment and process capabilities to support production volumes.
- Manage manufacturing projects from initial development through to final manufacturing qualification.
- Oversee internal and supplier equipment qualification plans and supervise the testing/validation of new equipment.
- Create manufacturing instructions for new products.
- Investigate and resolve issues that arise during the manufacturing of new and existing products using tools like RCCA, Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Why's, etc..., and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations related to job duties.
- Adhere to and enforce Customer and Company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
- Provide feedback to management regarding potential problems or areas for improvement.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience is preferred.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, and 5S methodologies.
- Knowledge of vacuum brazing, CNC operations, and/or welding is preferred.
