Sr Mechanical Engineer (Hybrid)

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team. This position involves researching, planning, analyzing, designing, and developing mechanical products such as ammunition handling systems, gun systems, missile launchers, payload support mechanisms, and other specialized devices. You will be responsible for the following:

• Design and Manufacturing Support: Provide design and manufacturing production support for U.S. Navy Vertical Launching Systems and Canister products.
• Technical Analysis: Analyze and perform technical assessments of engineering problems using specialized equipment and software.
• CAD Modeling: Reduce innovative design concepts into 3D CAD models and support mechanical and electrical component selections for various systems.
• Document Management: Create and revise technical documentation, ensuring designs comply with military standards and specifications.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to address design and manufacturing issues, and present solutions during Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
• Project Support: Provide production support from the shop floor to full-scale production, ensuring quality, cost, schedule, and performance requirements are met.
• Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and provide engineering change proposals (ECPs) and revisions to government contracts.

Skills Required:

• CAD Proficiency: Must have experience creating moderately complex solid models and mechanical designs using CAD software (PTC Pro-E or Creo).
• Problem Solving: Ability to solve moderately complex technical design and development problems, applying professional engineering knowledge.
• Design Standards: Knowledge of military specifications, design standards, and engineering best practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Skills Preferred:

• Military Product Experience: Familiarity with military product design, production environments, and applicable standards.
• Root Cause Analysis: Experience performing Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) in production environments.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant computer applications and technologies in mechanical or aerospace engineering.

Experience Required:

• Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, development, and engineering support for complex systems.

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
