The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design, along with strong technical proficiency and leadership skills.

An MEP Engineering Consulting firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Orlando office. This role involves designing and managing mechanical systems for a variety of projects, including medical facilities, hospitals, federal buildings, commercial properties, and residential developments. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design, along with strong technical proficiency and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for diverse projects.
- Perform computer-based HVAC load calculations using software such as Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, Elite, and others.
- Prepare and review detailed design documents, including plans, specifications, and calculations.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Utilize Revit to produce and manage project design models.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and design staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of mechanical engineering design experience, specifically in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Experience with projects in medical facilities, hospitals, federal, commercial, and residential sectors.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida or eligibility to obtain licensure with a current NCEES record.
- Proficiency with Revit and computer-based HVAC load calculation tools.
- Proven engineering supervisory experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with energy modeling and sustainability practices.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing engineering teams or projects.
- Knowledge of state and federal building codes applicable to mechanical systems.
