POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Sr. Mid-Range Planning Engineer is accountable for managing mid-range projects, designs and plans at Pinto Valley Mine.

- Work primarily with Mine Technical Services, Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance Planning, Mine Maintenance Execution, Dispatch Team, Processing Maintenance, Processing Operations.
External:
- Work with contractors and vendors
PEOPLE REPORTING TO THIS POSITION

- Short Range Engineers and Analysts and D&B Engineers and Analysts
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures
- Ensure all activities are compliant with Company policies and procedures, federal and state regulations as well as local regulatory agencies.
- Strong collaboration and communication of plans with various stakeholders.
- Oversee rolling forecast process and deliverables.
- Work with short-range and long-range planning to ensure objectives are being met in the mid-range.
- Track key projects and ensure they are being carried out on time and with the required quality control
- Design mid term dumps, ramps, and projects.
- Develop and track KPIs to ensure monthly objectives are being met.
- Develop budgets as required
- Regular field visits with stakeholders to measure progress and quality of work.
- Plan, budget, communicate, and coordinate to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.
- Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
- 5 to 10 years of mining experience.
- Mine Engineering or similar degree.
- Knowledge of drill-blast-load-haul open pit mining sequence is preferred.
Prior experience in a copper operation strongly preferred.
Key Competencies / Skills
- Experience with MineStar or similar fleet management system.
- Experience with SAP or similar purchasing program.
- Prior exposure to mine planning software (Vulcan, MineSight, Terrain, AcQuire) is preferred.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong project management skills required.
- Quick learner with proactive mindset.
- Proven ability to identify problems and devise solutions.
- Excellent communication, analytical, management and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English fluently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This role is generally 85% office environment and 15% field environment.
- Must have ability to stand and walk for short durations, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.
- Must have ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat, occasionally in confined spaces.
