As a Network Monitoring Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining systems to monitor availability and capacity of our complex network infrastructure. You will work closely with other engineering teams to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our systems. Your expertise in network automation, alerting, and reporting will be crucial in driving our network initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement solutions for the monitoring, alerting, and capacity management of network elements from various manufacturers
- Extensive experience with monitoring systems like Solarwinds, Splunk, DXNetops, Moogsoft, Datadog, etc.
- Strong expertise with SNMP, YANG, Netconf, and API based data collection
- Conduct data analysis using tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Looker
- Provide detailed reports and analysis on network performance and incidents
- Understand and report against Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Collaborate with network engineers and other stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and requirements
- Creation of dashboards and actionable reports to assist with capacity management and enhancing network stability
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network monitoring
- Maintain documentation for monitoring processes and solutions
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in monitoring provider or large-scale enterprise networking
- Proficiency in SNMP, Netconf, and Monitoring APIs
- Strong experience with JSON and XML parsing
- Expertise in using monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk, and DXNetOps
- Proficiency in data analysis tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Looker
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of reporting against SLAs is preferred but not required
- Strong automation skills with Shell Scripting, Bash, Python and JavaScript
- Experience with network management systems and protocols
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with the automation of Cisco and Juniper routers and switches.
- Experience with cloud automation using Terraform or CloudFormation
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
