Senior OSP Project Manager

This role is responsible for successfully executing assigned OSP fiber network design and implementation and customer prem projects across multiple markets.

The Senior OSP Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that works is completed on time and within budget. The Senior OSP Project Manager provides status updates to stakeholders, strategically manages risk, and ensures each phase of work is delivered based on the defined project schedule.

The role requires an individual with strong leadership, facilitation, management and stakeholder relationship skills. This position partners across the Visionary organization, and with construction contractors to plan and execute project deliverables.

We are looking for a candidate within an area we service, Wyoming, Colorado, or Montana.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drives the delivery of OSP projects including FTTH and customer prem.
• Manage complex regulatory/permitting issues such as NEPA, USFS, BLM etc.
• Interact with various municipalities and vendors to ensure that positive communication is maintained.
• Manage the bid process with bidders to ensure the lowest qualified awards are made and diligently manage the contract terms throughout the life of each contract.
• Submitting project bids and collaborating with management for review and approval.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring quality and delivery is on schedule.
• Provide project level and executive project reporting including regular updates.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans.
• Builds strong working internal Visionary relationships by providing regular status updates, facilitating alignment meetings, and leading escalation discussions.
• Builds strong working relationships with construction vendors to ensure high quality performance and on-schedule project completion.
• Maintain and monitor regular communication with stakeholders, including internal teams and construction partners.
• Participate in pre-construction and regular status meetings to ensure clear expectations and scopes of work.
• Ensure that all project data in Monday is kept up to date with milestone dates and relevant notes.
• Ensure vendor invoicing, as-built documents and all other vendor deliverables are completed in a timely manner and prepare all closeout documentation as required.
• Maintain and monitor the schedule and coordinate with various departments to ensure project requirements are met and are on time.
• Responsible for keeping leadership and team members informed about project updates during regular daily and weekly meetings.

Requirements and Essential Knowledge/Skills:

• 7+ years of experience within the telecommunications industry of managing OSP/FTTH construction projects is desired that includes outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunications engineering, splicing, and construction project management experience.
• Strong ability to work within critical deadlines and drive accountability.
• Working knowledge of construction standards, fiber specifications and optical network design principles.
• Demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with various Outside Plant (OSP) construction methods, including aerial and underground construction practices such as directional boring, trenching and plowing
• Experience in permitting and meeting and working with municipalities, state and government agencies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams and Monday)
• Understanding of the application of RUS units a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as listening and interpretation skills.
• Proficiency in reading project engineering designs and construction documents accurately.
• Experience in updating timelines, detailed reports, and executive summaries.
• Strong ability to provide leadership/mentoring to other team members
• Experience in a rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities is a must.
