Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the 340B Program Manager, the Sr Pharmacy Analyst will assist with the overall maintenance and support of UCI Health's 340B Program. The Sr Pharmacy Analyst's key areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to improve the overall efficiency, value and internal support of the 340B program. The incumbent is responsible for the split billing/third party administrator systems and the functions to be performed. Must develop, implement and maintain processes to ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, develop and maintain internal relationships (billing, IT, legal, etc.) and external relationships (wholesalers, manufacturers, contract pharmacies, split-billing software vendor, etc.) to ensure sound operations of UCI Health's 340B program. This position will work under the direction of the 340B Program Manager with audit results and recommend changes to improve 340B integrity and compliance. The incumbent actively participates in audit preparation and is accountable for audit interactions as a face-to-face member of the facility audit team during actual audits. 340B Mixed-use Functions: Ensures mixed-use pharmacies are being monitored with scrutiny for diversion through the routine auditing of medication orders; Evaluates patient eligibility for qualified and non-qualified patients in mixed-use areas by reviewing patient medical records, insurance plans, location, provider eligibility, and hospital status; Prepares, agenda, minutes and detailed reports on audit findings to report out at the 340B Sterring Committee; Reviews the OPAIS database quarterly.

Required Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of 340B program, best practices, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience/training.
  • Advanced level analytical skills and ability to translate raw data analysis into impactful reports and presentations with actionable insights.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage highly-complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and EMRs. Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced ever-changing work environment and successfully adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • 340B Apexus Advanced Certification Program (will be required within 6 months of hire date)
  • 2-3 years of experience in 340B program management, auditing and purchasing

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner in English. Ability to produce and deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with managers, professional and technical staff.
  • Ability to serve as an advanced technical leader providing advice, counsel, and analysis on business intelligence issues.
