A Senior PowerBI Analyst/ DW Reports Developer

Summary

Collect, mine, maintain, analyze, and report relevant financial data to help Dexter's decision makers make more informed business decisions in order to grow sales, expand margins, maintain customer service, and improve EBITDA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Act as a liaison to key teams across Dexter (Sales, Purchasing, Plant Controllers, Plant Managers, Quality) to drive adoption of key FP&A products such as Power BI Analytics, Data Warehouse, SSRS reports, and other custom-built solutions (i.e. sales price tracker, productivity report, daily sales, etc).

Lead the development of new product in areas such as Power BI Analytics, custom solutions that enable sales and purchasing to better manage price increases and material costs, and FP&A-centric tools that facilitate the rapid reporting of emerging financial trends.

Train end-users across the business on Data Warehouse, SSRS reports, and Power BI tools.

Using existing and new data sources, lead the development of custom solutions for key stakeholders across Dexter (Sales, Purchasing, Plant Controllers, Plant Managers, Quality, Etc.)

Mentor team member/s focused on Power BI development, SQL, Data Warehouse, and other solutions as identified and adopted by the Company.

Partner with VP of FP&A to update and continuously improve existing analytics and financial solutions.

Materially participate in the budgeting process, enabling FP&A and teams across Dexter to harness existing data sources and analytics to make more informed decisions during the budgeting process.

Maintain Power BI analytic product, including Power BI Gateways and Power BI Apps, custom tools built for other teams, the Data Warehouse, and other solutions as developed to maintain the timeliness and accuracy of reporting and a high level of "up time" for managed data sources.

Ad-hoc analysis in support of rapid decision making across FP&A and the broader organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does not entail direct supervisory responsibility, but entails technical mentorship of more junior member of the team focused on Power BI development, Data Warehouse, SQL, ERP, and other relevant technical tools.

Education and Experience

Requires Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science, or a comparable discipline with at least 5 years of experience. Significant ERP analyst experience required. Significant knowledge and proficiency of databases, SQL, Data Visualization Tools, and data warehousing required. Experience in SQL, SSMS, TCM, SSIS/Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Power BI Administration required.
