Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Practice Innovation Analyst with 6+ years of experience in legal technology, innovation, or AI/ML initiatives, including at least 2+ years of experience working with generative AI solutions. This role will be instrumental in driving the development, testing, and deployment of cutting-edge GenAI tools across the firm. The successful candidate will partner closely with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and developers to lead initiatives that enhance the firm's innovation capabilities and improve service delivery. This role will ensure the firm remains at the forefront of technological advancements in the legal industry. The successful candidate must reside proximate to Los Angeles and this position may be remote or hybrid.

Essential Functions

  • Help lead the development, testing, and deployment of generative AI solutions, including proprietary firm tools to support various legal and operational functions.
  • Lead pilots for new AI-based tools and platforms, working closely with vendors, developers, and practice groups to ensure successful integration into the firm's workflows.
  • Collaborate with developers to design and implement GenAI tools tailored to the firm's needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance standards.
  • Develop clear business and technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders, and support the product team throughout the development lifecycle to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
  • Partner with practice groups and business leaders to identify high-value opportunities for GenAI, focusing on tools that enhance client service, operational efficiency, and innovation-driven revenue generation.
  • Facilitate change management initiatives to maximize the adoption, engagement, and impact of generative AI tools across practice groups.
  • Evaluate and test emerging GenAI technologies, providing thought leadership on their potential impact on the legal industry and the firm's competitive positioning.
  • Monitor the performance of GenAI pilots, track usage metrics, and assess ROI to support decision-making on future technology investments.
  • Assist with developing strategies to monetize GenAI solutions, creating business models for client-facing tools and services.
  • Act as a key liaison between the innovation team and IT, ensuring smooth deployment, scalability, and integration of AI tools within the firm's infrastructure.
  • Assist with other innovation and analytics projects.
  • Provide internal training and support to ensure firm-wide adoption of generative AI solutions, including creating user guides, conducting workshops, marketing solutions, and offering ongoing support.
  • Ensure GenAI initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and contribute to the firm's overall strategic goals in innovation and technology.
  • Create robust requirements, documentation, and training materials.
  • Develop best practices and guidelines to ensure the optimal use of GenAI solutions.

Requirements

  • Specific Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience, master's degree preferred.
    • 6+ years of experience in legal innovation, legal technology, or AI/ML implementation roles, ideally within professional services or a law firm.
    • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience with GenAI tools and technologies, with a focus on piloting, deploying, and supporting AI-driven solutions in legal or adjacent domains.
    • Strong understanding of GenAI platforms, AI model lifecycle, and natural language processing (NLP) tools.
    • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technology pilots and collaborating with internal/external developers and stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python) and AI model development frameworks.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
    • Experience working in a law firm or with legal professionals is a plus.
    • Experience with Jira and Scrum is a plus.
    • A passion for staying ahead of industry trends in AI and technology, with a focus on continuous learning and applying new insights to real-world challenges.

    • Attention to detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail, occasionally for prolonged periods of time and under restrictive deadlines, and complete assignments logically and accurately
    • Initiative: Takes independent actions and reasonable risks; asks for and offers help when needed.
    • Dependability: Follows instructions and responds to management direction. Willing to commit to additional hours, when necessary, to reach firm objectives.
    • Responsibility: Good steward of the firm's systems, data and information, ability to maintain confidentiality.

Benefits

In accordance with California's amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $85,760 and $128,640. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
