In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new manufacturing technology that can be used by both R&D and manufacturing sites to improve products and revolutionize our production lines. You will work with an international team of technology subject matter experts, engineering teams from around the global, and more than a dozen research and development organizations.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Lead the Centers of Excellence (COEs) for Electromechanical Assembly and Capital Equipment Assembly
Establish Best in Class Equipment Standards for equipment utilized within the Electromechanical Assembly and Capital Equipment Assembly manufacturing spaces.
Establish and maintain relationships with Operating Units (OUs) and R&D organizations utilizing the COE technologies and processes.
Understand the long-term manufacturing technology needs for Operating Units (OUs) and R&D organizations.
Establish and maintain relationships with Manufacturing Sites utilizing the COE technologies and processes to understand their current challenges and future needs.
Identify new manufacturing technology opportunities based on the inputs from R&D and manufacturing sites by connecting with vendors, academia, and other internal and external partners.
Host regular COE meetings to drive connection across the COE.
Maintain a roadmap of projects to test feasibility on new manufacturing technologies and implement them within manufacturing sites or as part of New Product Introductions.
Work with your Manufacturing Technology Development partner to test new manufacturing technologies in a fail-fast laboratory environment, prior to introduction into a manufacturing site or new product development program.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree required
Requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
Experience with manufacturing assembly techniques including ultrasonic welding, soldering, wire management, PCBA testing
Experience with Electrostatic Discharge protections
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment that uses manual assembly techniques, semi-automation and mechanization, and high-speed assembly including robotic assembly
Experience with defining technology roadmaps over a 5-to-10-year horizon
Experience working with teams internationally
Demonstrable strategic thinking abilities
Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to establish credibility and strong relationships with senior stakeholders
Ability to connect with stakeholders and influence people
Experience with the Microsoft Suite of products including Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint
Ability to evaluate information from a number of sources and define individual opportunities and a broader long range roadmap
Travel 0-25%
