Overview
The Patelco Operations and Transformation team is responsible for smooth execution of operations, especially with money-movement products such as ACH, Bill Pay, Zelle, and Wires. Our work focuses on optimizing efficiencies and transforming the organization into a world class operations unit.
In partnership with functional leaders across operations and the organization, the SR Principal Payment Strategy designs Patelco' s money movement multi-year strategy ensuring alignment across the organization. In this role, the SR Principal Payment Strategy assumes overall responsibility for our products and ensures that all stakeholders are informed. This is a high impact role that requires fresh, innovative, and high analytical thinking. It offers the opportunity to shape the future of payments for Patelco. The role will report to the SVP Operations and Transformation.

Responsibilities
- Creates and mobilizes a plan to accelerate growth of money movement products, including transactional volume, in accordance with Patelco' s strategic plan targets. The plan should address key drivers including product positioning, product development, trends, and emerging payment.
- Designs and develop payment strategies to improve efficiency and enhance member experience. Articulates clear and compelling strategic narrative (e.g., across objective key results, meetings, Executive Communications) and builds connections to translate narrative to execution.
- Leads the implementation of money movement products and processes.
- Develops lasting and productive relationships throughout the organization and gains input from all levels of the organization to ensure alignment of strategic objectives, implementation, and decision-making including Delivery, Technology, Compliance, Accounting, Business Transformation, and Fraud Prevention leadership.
- Ensures compliance with financial and operational standards and procedures including internal and external audits and other regulatory requirements.
- Identifies product risk assessments and performs annual product Risk Assessments. Partners with Fraud, Operational Risk, Digital, and Technology to identify and mitigate risks (ie. unauthorized transactions, chargebacks, etc.)
- Demonstrates ongoing knowledge of payment eco-system, trends, opportunities, and threats in this space.
- Identifies, analyzes, and monitors external and internal environments that could affect payments at Patelco.
- Sets specific KPI targets, including volumes, participation and engagement. Put in place tools to monitor KPIs regularly. Develop and help refine forecasting of key business drivers.
- Identifies, develops, and maintains documentation of best business practices to support organization's growth while managing risks including, financial, operational and reputational risks
- Manages vendors, contracts, and/or manages relationships with payment processors, banks, and other financial. partners.
- Evaluates and integrates new payment technologies.
- Provides insights and/or recommendations to improve financial performance through payment innovations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of financial, strategy, or planning experience in a small to mid-sized organization
- Demonstrated expertise in the payment ecosystem and superior understanding of payment systems (ACH, Instant Payments, Zelle, Wires, and Bill Payment)
- Experience in negotiation and managing vendors.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
