Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Procurement will oversee that procurement team and process of all commercial goods. This role involves oversight of vendor evaluations and managing the RFQ process to secure optimal quality and cost efficiency. This position will be a sstrategic partner, collaborating cross-functionally with procurement, operations, planning, production, design, sales and marketing teams to ensure timely material delivery and drive innovative display concepts. The Senior Manager will identify and pursue new sourcing opportunities to enhance brand positioning and market competitiveness. Additionally, the Senior Manager will closely oversee Burpee's seed supply procurement, includes working closely with vendors on production.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Lead direct procurement team and processes for the Burpee portfolio.
  • Oversee seed supply procurement, vendor relationships, and production coordination.
  • Develop and maintain procurement strategies for short- and long-term supply needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage national and international seed suppliers.
  • Oversee stock seed strategy and parental line management.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet production goals.
  • Manage vendor evaluations, RFQs, and cost analyses for optimal quality and pricing.
  • Monitor market trends, assess supply chain risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Finance on annual purchasing budgets and cost forecasts.
  • Identify new sourcing opportunities to support brand strategies.
  • Manage open purchase orders and optimize daily purchasing operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and forecast purchasing needs.
  • Resolve vendor and receiving issues while strengthening long-term partnerships.
