Reporting into Operations but working closely and cross-functionally with R&D, Product Management, Operations, and Technical Support, the Life Cycle Management Scientist will lead initiatives to realize product, process, and cost gains through cross-functional partnerships. The Sr Scientist, Life Cycle Management is a hands-on role designing and executing experiments on site. Key Initiatives include continuous product improvement, technology transfer, product development, manufacturing sciences, and customer technical support escalations.

Below is the salary range for this full time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one's skills, qualifications, and experience.
Base Salary Range - $135,000 - $155,000 USD

The Sr Scientist, Life Cycle Management is a hands-on role designing and executing experiments on site. Key Initiatives include continuous product improvement, technology transfer, product development, manufacturing sciences, and customer technical support escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management of assay products from late-stage development into transfer and operations.
- On market product improvements and end of life including BOM creation and setup, pricing for gross margin analysis, part number set up and subcomponent naming, packaging and labeling plans.
- Assistance with QC instructions, participation in internal Verification & Validation as native user, and executing further stability studies for date extensions.
- Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments to achieve product improvement areas, product performance troubleshooting, and provide sales and support with product capability extension.
- Participating on a core team.
- Leading the weekly Product Lifecycle meeting with Product Management, Product Marketing and Tech Support and providing quarterly report outs to the Executive team on progress and deliverables.
- Supporting product quality investigations and root cause analysis.
- Leading cost reduction initiatives, including supplier changes, process optimizations, and formulation improvements.
- Communicating effectively with peers / management and reporting initiatives to corporate goals.
- Working cross-functionally within and across the organization effectively as a team player.
- Partnering with development team to set incoming material acceptance criteria, in process QC, and final product quality specifications.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
- An advanced degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field with 7+ years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical experience in Product Lifecycle Management, Continuous Product Improvement, Technology Transfer, Product Development, Manufacturing Sciences.
- Proven hands-on industrial success in product development and improvement initiatives.
- Experience participating on Core Teams.
- Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA purification and quantification, PCR/qPCR, Cell biology, enzymatic assays, and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques, RNA based sequencing assays, methylation-based assays, Single cell or targeted enrichment assays.
- Single cell workflows and knowledge a bonus.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic with knowledge of lean six sigma operational excellence and capabilities to build, support and maintain scalable systems and process for product quality.
- A can-do attitude and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing landscape.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong proactive ability to anticipate problems and mitigate risk.
Physical Activities:
- Working in controlled laboratory environment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
- Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
