Ecolab is providing an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Digital Solutions team as a Senior Software Engineer. This role will focus on digital technologies & platforms to enable & support our Industrial CDS organization globally. The Senior Software Engineer will be a key member of the technical team, with a focus on extending of platforms to meet business requirements & collaborating with internal & external developer partners to ensure for optimal solution development.
These software applications are focused on Nalco's and Ecolab's businesses for delivering value to our customers through web, mobile and desktop tools. Many of the systems deployed at the customer site are integrated with customers PLC/historian and process control systems. This data is captured in Ecolab/Nalco servers for BI/analytics purposes. The ideal candidate needs to have a broad understanding of all aspects of software development and familiarity with the industrial market space is a plus.

Position Details:
- Location: This position in based out of our Naperville, IL office
- No immigration sponsorship available for this position.
- Develops applications using C#, .NET, JavaScript, and the Microsoft suite of technologies.
- Monitor technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities.
- Engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review, and design of the software, including technical review and analysis of source code. Will include reviews of in-house developed code, as well as review of technologies provided by 3rd party vendors.
- Think strategically and balance short-term needs with longer-term business priorities
- Challenge status quo and champion new ideas throughout cross-functional organizations; ability to inspire confidence and trust with peers and cross-functional business teams.
- Reviews and analyzes business requirements and provide technical feasibility and estimates.
- Creates technical documents for software products using Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and other MS Office applications.
- Participates in all the Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning and Estimation, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Sprint Retrospectives.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues in a timely fashion, communicating updates as determined until issue is resolved.
- Works closely with the team to help identify root cause and implements solutions to reduce recurring defects and issues.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent.
- 4 years of experience as a software developer or senior developer.
- 3 years of experience as a software developer using the following languages/frameworks: C#, .NET.
- 1 year of experience in Microsoft Azure.
- 2 years of experience using a relational database (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
- 1 year experience using Azure Cosmos DB or a NoSQL database.
- Proven ability working with business, engineering, and R&D teams to translate needs to Application Development teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a multi-technology environment is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Applications, Azure Functions and/or Azure Microservices.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory and/or Azure Data Bricks.
- Experience using Microsoft Azure Dev Ops.
- Strong knowledge of a variety of software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and an understanding as to when each of these approaches is most suitable.
- Excellent communication skills: presentation, written, and oral.
- Must be able to perform as an effective member in a team-oriented environment, maintain a positive attitude, and achieve desired results while working with minimal supervision.
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills and technologies, and passion for conveying knowledge.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Prior experience working with global development teams.
- Experience in IoT environments.
