Brief Overview:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering organization. This role requires a strong background in enterprise-level Ruby application development and microservice architecture. We are looking for someone to implement scalable solutions, mentor engineers, and model best practices in software development. You'll work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and engineers to build high-quality, innovative healthcare applications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in architecture, coding and is passionate about delivering robust, secure, and scalable solutions.

Core Responsibilities:
Design, develop and maintain scalable and high-performance Ruby, Node and Typescript applications
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the design of scalable and secure backend solutions.
Optimize existing systems for performance and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to define and deliver project requirements.
Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD processes and automate deployments.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of the system architecture, APIs, and development processes.
Provide on call support to monitor and resolve production incidents and system outages

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of Ruby experience
  • 5+ years working with enterprise applications hosted in AWS, production application experience strongly preferred
  • Experience building in a microservice/DevOps environment
  • Experience with container-based deployments
  • Experience building multiple levels of automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) to ensure high quality code delivery
  • Experience integrating with third party APIs
  • Experience with building secure software and able to achieve federal government security clearance
  • Preferred: Experience with PostgreSQL or DynamoDB
  • Preferred: Experience supporting longer lived existing code bases
  • Preferred: Experience with on-call rotational support
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Google CDR is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills

The typical base salary range for this position is $127,000- $175,000. The actual salary offer will ultimately depend on multiple factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, relevant education, experience, complexity or specialization of talent, and other objective factors. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of company performance and employee performance. Long-term incentive and short-term variable compensation may be offered as part of the compensation package dependent on the role. Some roles may be commission based, in which case the total compensation will be based on a commission and the above range may not be an accurate representation of total compensation.
