As a Senior Supply Chain Manager on the North America Transportation Initiatives Team, you will focus on delivering a short-term plan (planning and forecasting last mile transportation capacity) to be used by all Transportation Stakeholders across the North American transportation network. The Trans Planning team steers Amazon's US Outbound (OB) Transportation network in the short-term horizon to support optimized delivery of OB volume, and own governance of such plans.
The role will require modeling experience (forecasting, optimization) and making informed decisions using technology based tools for plan generation/validation. Sr Supply Chain Managers in this role provide guidance to planning teams across supply chain and steer the the US Outbound transportation network through an optimized volume allocation plan across 1P/3P carriers. The decisions taken in this role impacts the labor planning for Amazon's supply chain operation. The objective is to build an optimized labor capacity plan and drive lower cost-to-serve.
Key job responsibilities
- Optimize various facets of supply chain operations, concentrating on optimizing and managing the flow of goods, information, or services within the supply chain network
- Lead strategic initiatives related to network capacity within Amazon's various business units
- Balance supply and demand, assess and improve the efficiency of distribution networks, warehouses, or logistics operations
- Analyze and synthesize data to identify opportunities for enhancing customer experiences and operational efficiency in network capacity
- Define metrics, develop program management mechanisms, and invent/simplify processes to drive decision-making in complex network capacity situations
- Collaborate with stakeholders across different functions, influencing and facilitating agreements to achieve shared network capacity goals
- Manage cross-functional network capacity initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to lean philosophy at scale
- Own a portfolio of cross-functional programs related to network capacity, driving performance improvement and efficiency in project delivery
- Identify and deliver operational improvement opportunities in network capacity, focusing on inventory management, logistics strategy, and transportation optimization
- Monitor and optimize key network capacity metrics to ensure the smooth flow of goods or services through the supply chain network
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
