Sr. System Engineer

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or industry certification in an applicable IT field with four years of relevant experience in design/administration/support of one or more platforms, or a bachelor's degree in an IT field with two years of applicable experience; or five years of equivalent experience in the areas of design/administration/support.
  • In-depth understanding of peripheral devices, connectivity, and desktop-based technology in an enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of multiple systems (operating systems, integration, and architecture), programming languages, and methodologies.
  • Experience with airline technology is preferred.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Skilled in formal and informal communication with clarity and precision.
  • Trusted to present truthful, direct feedback, maintain confidentiality, and admit mistakes when necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Certify and support hardware peripheral devices within enterprise environment.
  • Responsible for the testing, certification, documentation, and support of hardware platforms.
  • Expertise in device connectivity, including serial, USB, and network topologies; RFID knowledge a plus.
  • Proficient in hardware firmware configuration and experience with Tera Term and PowerShell scripting.
  • Provide technical consultation and direct support for the life cycle of hardware systems.
  • Certify, implement, and update drivers and firmware, ensuring alignment with enterprise requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, conducting remote diagnostics when necessary.
  • Collaborate with business units to configure and integrate hardware systems.
  • Ensure optimal platform performance and availability through monitoring, tuning, and timely service restoration.
  • Perform root cause analysis to resolve service interruptions and prevent recurrence.
  • Design and document enterprise support standards and procedures.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve system performance and reduce total cost of ownership.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and adapt strategies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Plan and execute hardware life cycle management activities.
  • Continuously improve platform performance to meet enterprise objectives.
  • Provide on-site and on-call support as needed, ensuring enterprise systems are functioning at peak levels.
