We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead our Open Mission Systems (OMS) architecture and design activities in support of large fixed wing platforms.

As a Sr Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of OMS based initiatives related to the platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, project engineers and program managers, to ensure the successful integration and deployment of OMS solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in advancing the capabilities of the platform and enhancing its mission effectiveness.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and management of projects for large fixed wing platforms.
  • Develop and maintain system requirements, architectures, and designs in alignment with customer needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential technical challenges.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and status updates to senior management and customers.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and customer engagements.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
  • Proven experience leading complex engineering projects, preferably in the context of mission systems for military aircraft.
  • Strong understanding of Open Systems Architecture.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering tools and methodologies, including requirements management, system modeling, and verification and validation.
  • Experience with SysML.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Experience with the C-130 platform or similar military aircraft is highly desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Knowledge of the OMS/UCI standard.
  • Knowledge of MOSA/SOSA/HOST/FACE.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant technical field.
  • Professional certifications in systems engineering or project management (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, PMP).
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of software development practices and integration of software and hardware components.
  • Experience in executing high-impact trade studies
  • Thorough understanding of establishing, tracking, and addressing key programmatic risks
  • Knowledge of Agile development process and tools like JIRA


Estimated Starting Salary Range: $143,487.14 - $197,294.82. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
