SUMMARY
Hitachi Construction is looking for a Facilities Operations Manager to step into a newly created role. The role is to develop and manage the HCMA/Acme service and maintenance facilities network within the United States in cooperation with HCMA partners and third-party providers.
The role will be key in establishing and managing the HCMA/Acme service facilities to ensure the efficient and profitable delivery of new equipment to HCMA independent rental company customers (IRC) and ensuring service support for
HCMA/Acme rental and used equipment in assigned markets.

The role will be key in establishing and managing the HCMA/Acme service facilities to ensure the efficient and profitable delivery of new equipment to HCMA independent rental company customers (IRC) and ensuring service support for
HCMA/Acme rental and used equipment in assigned markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a growing network of construction equipment installation and service facilities with the U.S.
- Manage and supervise service facility supervisors at facility locations.
- Work with the HCMA/Acme Upfit operations and administration teams to ensure the efficient and timely installation of attachments, pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), delivery of completed new construction equipment to IRCs, and the repairs/maintenance of rental and used equipment in assigned territories.
- Proper supervision and control of new, rental and used inventory at service facilities.
- Manage third party vendor relationships and accountability to service level agreements (SLAs)
- Ensure efficient movement of equipment inventory between port locations, vendor facilities, storage yards, and customers.
- Take appropriate actions on concerns and issues from customers and operations personnel.
- Open and develop new facilities around major ports (estimated three new facilities)
- Ability to travel to service facilities as well as customer visits.
- Communicate to the Director of Rental Operations operating metrics, KPIs, and cost absorption rates.
- Developing and ensuring consistent and efficient operating processes across all service facilities.
- Developing and managing service facilities to developed key performance indicators (KPIs) and cost absorption rates.
- Direct management of service upfit facility managers.
- Manage vendor service level agreement (SLA) performance and accountability.
- Opening new service facilities (estimated three new).
- Being the commercial interface for service providers and internal customers related to service issues.
- Forecasting activity and cost absorption
- Staff and team development.
- Managing the development, implementation and follow-up of installation and service KPIs.
- Driving discussions concerning sales support adjustments to support HCMA/Acme customers and regional territory personnel with new equipment upfitting and delivery as well as new and used equipment service and maintenance in assigned territories.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in business or management or finance (preferred)
- (Minimum) 5-10 years practical working experience in the heavy equipment service industry. Knowledge of standard costing techniques
- Equipment rental industry experience desired
- Experience supervising and managing technical service personnel
- Experience with cost absorption of service facilities
- Effective cost control skills
- Effective service facility capacity utilization
- Effective work completion rates and delivery times
- Customer service satisfaction orientated
- Ability work in remote/home office, office, and field environments
- Able to perform duties effectively in a fast-paced environment whether working autonomously or under direction
- Extensive travel required, approx.. 50% US wide, M-F when possible.
