We are looking for a Staff Level Software Engineer to join our Software team. The location for this opportunity is in Melbourne, FL and will be primarily based within our office spaces to support program and business needs. Operating on our 9/80 schedule meaning you will get every other Friday off. We offer flexible work arrangements, 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off, phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, and a very friendly team environment.
This is a vital position in support of critical software design and development. Candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining the software development ecosystem and software pipeline and establish the SW factory and supporting tools. Candidate will work under only general direction, independently determines, and develops approaches to solutions supporting the program needs. Candidate will act as a liaison from time to time with frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. The Candidate shall be willing to travel to other sites to support TIMs, integration efforts, and other software related tasking. The Candidate shall also be willing to adjust work schedule to meet the needs of across the nation as required.

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Essential Functions:
- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with programs objectives.
- In depth understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field listed under the basic qualifications.
- Design, develop, document, test and debug software development environments and software pipelines
- Conduct multidisciplinary research when needed and collaborates with engineers and/or vendors in the planning, design, development, and utilization of DevOps systems for software production
- Follows and ensures standards are met.
- Support the product team leads
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 12 years' experience, or STEM master's degree with 10 years' experience, or a STEM PHD with 8 years' experience.
- Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
- Experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools, i.e., Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies.
- Familiarity with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, i.e., SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity, etc.
- Programming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts).
- Programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to collaborate in a team environment
- Able to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems
- Able to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hours
- Preference to work in software/hardware integration and rapid prototyping
- Experience coordinating and delivering solutions across a large value stream
- Experience with Atlassian tools
- Familiarity with branching strategies, gated commits, source-controlled management
