Staff MEMS Sensor Designer
Apply NowCompany: Xenter
Location: San Jose, CA 95123
Description:
Xenter is a technology in medicine company that is bringing medical devices to the digital age. Xenter is revolutionizing medicine by developing and launching smart/wireless guidewires and catheters that transmit data through a proprietary wireless network to our proprietary cloud that houses real time Physical Intelligence medical data.
Reports to: VP, Semiconductor Technology
Location: San Francisco Bay Area or Salt Lake City
Salary Range: $150K to $230K
Overview:
You will be a key member in the sensor team responsible for designing and verifying pressure sensor for medical applications. You will design the state-of-art MEMS pressure sensor to meet to product requirements for cardiovascular procedure. You will be expected to take high level user requirements and create a realizable system that meets these goals. This will include modeling of proposed solutions, verifying the design and assisting process engineers on fabrication. This is a highly cross-functional role, and you will work with others to identify critical aspects of how the design will interact with the overall product.
Responsibilities:
Design MEMS pressure sensor to be used in medical devices.
Work closely with the system architects, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers to define constraints and requirements including performance, power and area targets.
Provide assistance to process engineers on wafer fabrication development.
Validate the performance of the design.
Assist testing team and verification team including test methodology development.
Participate in strategic planning for new sensing platforms and techniques.
Partner with external vendors and key opinion leaders to understand and identify technical strategies for improving the safety and performance of the medical devices.
Collaborate with the other Engineering teams, Quality, and Regulatory functions on knowledge transfer and document generation.
Actively contribute to product innovation and intellectual property (IP) by generating ideas and demonstrating their feasibility through proof-of-concept studies.
Collaborate with specialists from cross-disciplinary design and technology teams.
Minimum Experience:
5+ years of experience working with MEMS sensor design.
Understanding of sensor silicon design with hands-on experience with modeling and FEA.
Familiar with MEMS sensor fabrication processes, especial for pressure sensor.
Experienced on MEMS sensor characterization methodology development.
Strong knowledge of engineering materials and properties.
Strong problem-solving skills and be able work in a fast paced collaborative environment. Be able to adapt to priority and task change quickly. Focus on details and getting tasks to completion. Independently explore new innovative ideas.
Interested in working in an interdisciplinary, small team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork skills.
Minimum Education:
MS or PhD in MEMS, electrical engineering, materials science, physics or similar
