About the Team
Vizio's media platform team manages audio/video subsystem in Vizio smart TVs, responsible for developing and maintaining media players, middleware, and the application support kit for web and native apps. We work with product team, vendors and app partners to make high quality products for the customers.
What You Will Do
Working with product team to get requirements and defining technical requirements.
Understand the existing software and design and architect new features.
Developing middleware such as hardware abstraction layer, application support layer, etc
Developing media player, player engine and media server.
Developing tools to verify media conformance and playback quality.
Working with internal and external team members to deliver high quality products.
Handling issues reported by internal and external qa and customer care tier 1.
Collaborating with vendor and partners.
About You
8+ years of experience in architecture & design, prototyping, software development & implementation plan, code review and unit testing for embedded devices.
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, electronics engineering or equivalent.
Very good experience in C++ and C.
Hands on experience in STB/IPTV SoC development.
Experience in developing firmware for hardware video pipeline.
Knowledge in media formats and containers like AVC, HEVC, VP9, AV1, Dolby, HDR, DTS, MP4, MPEG-TS, CMAF, VTT, etc.
Experience in middleware, system programming, IPC, multi-threading, memory management, debugging.
Experience in shell script, build systems, JavaScript, Python, git, bug tracking tools.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, and team player.
