Your Role

As a staff pathologist at MilliporeSigma, you will play an active role in managing the current portfolio of immunohistochemistry markers, working under limited supervision and in collaboration with colleagues in Quality, Operations, and Research and Development. You will provide anatomic pathology expertise to quality and regulatory team to meet in vitro device (IVD) regulatory standards. You will also play a crucial role in quality control activities, participate in strategic planning and the overall direction of pathology products and services.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Score and interpret immunohistochemistry stains.
  • Determine antibody acceptability of batches released for sale.
  • Review H and E slides, pathology reports, and immunohistochemistry stains for new tissue blocks and maintain tissue block inventory.
  • Provide pathology expertise to quality, R&D, and regulatory departments to support in vitro diagnostic regulatory approval.
  • Stay current on new immunohistochemistry applications in pathology with attendance of pathology conferences as needed.


Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:
  • MD/DO degree with ABP board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology (AP); certification in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience, including broad expertise in anatomic pathology, with a focus on immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization (e.g., FISH), and other histopathology stains.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills focused on training and/or teaching various audiences.
  • Strategic thinking about future directions for immunohistochemistry products and services.
  • Highly motivated and can work with limited supervision.
