Job Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Cancer Center pharmacist will serve as a drug information and clinic resource for all oncology infusion clinics. They will also perform a clinical review of medication orders, chemotherapy checking and compounding, providing drug information support to the clinic and infusion areas, and assisting with optimization and build of the electronic medical record. The pharmacists work closely with technical staff, nurses, mid-level providers, and physicians to meet the operational, clinical, and research needs of the infusion clinic and the comprehensive cancer center. There are opportunities for resident and student precepting as well as cross training to help cover inpatient oncology services. This position will provide support for inpatient clinical services and main campus clinics.
Maintains updated knowledge and skills and contributes to the education of others. There are also opportunities for resident and student precepting as well as cross training in designated areas as assigned. Provides age-appropriate care in accordance with Age Specific Care Guidelines. Attends periodic area and team meetings. Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building. Will be expected to uphold the hospital's five key values, participate in quality and process improvement activities of the Department of Pharmacy.
Must demonstrate a commitment to high quality patient care and ongoing learning and skills development. Should have good interpersonal, decision making, problem solving, supervisory, and customer services skills. This individual must demonstrate a positive attitude, commitment to teamwork, attention to detail, and be flexible to provide services based on the daily needs of the cancer program.

How You'll Impact Patient care:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Process medication orders and prescriptions from physicians and nurses.
- Supervise technicians to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing, optimizing staff utilization.
- Deliver pharmaceutical care for optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to quality improvement efforts through teamwork.
- Continuously update and document skills and knowledge.
- Maintain documentation for compliance with standards and regulations.
- Set personal goals to support departmental objectives.
- Provide age-appropriate care following guidelines.

What You Will Need:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a B.S. in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) is required.
- Current state pharmacist license in good standing through North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required.
Nice To Have (Not Required):
- Completion of a PGY1 residency is strongly preferred and a PGY2 Oncology Residency program or Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years oncology experience is preferred.
- Experience in hematology oncology and IV sterile compounding preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
