What You'll Do:
This is a full-time position that will support inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services at our acute substance use withdrawal/mental health facility serving Larimer County. This full-time staff pharmacist position will be completing both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy duties. The main duties include reviewing and interpreting prescription orders, performing drug utilization reviews to identify potential interactions or inaccuracies, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, overseeing support staff, providing pharmaceutical information to other healthcare professionals, monitoring drug therapies, and providing pharmaceutical expertise to patients on the safe use of medications. Inpatient duties will include interdisciplinary rounds and comprehensive medication reviews of all clients admitted to the units.

The typical hiring range for this position is $122,512 to $153,130 annually based on relevant years of experience.

- Location: Larimer County, CO at Longview
- Status: Full-time, 40/hrs. week
What You'll Do:
This is a full-time position that will support inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services at our acute substance use withdrawal/mental health facility serving Larimer County. This full-time staff pharmacist position will be completing both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy duties. The main duties include reviewing and interpreting prescription orders, performing drug utilization reviews to identify potential interactions or inaccuracies, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, overseeing support staff, providing pharmaceutical information to other healthcare professionals, monitoring drug therapies, and providing pharmaceutical expertise to patients on the safe use of medications. Inpatient duties will include interdisciplinary rounds and comprehensive medication reviews of all clients admitted to the units.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Fills prescriptions in Outpatient Pharmacy including daily dose packaging for SummitStone programs, discharge meds and outpatient clients.
- Helps with outpatient operations including data verification, filling of medications and point of sale medication dispensing.
- Ensures efficient and proper dispensing of medications - verifies correct patient, correct medication, correct dose, correct directions, and correct quantity.
- Verification of all medication orders during inpatient stay.
- Completes comprehensive medication review for client being admitted to one of our units.
- Assures that inventory levels are maintained at their most efficient and effective levels.
- Works with other mental health providers to create and update patient care plans during rounds and as needed, ensuring appropriate medication use, including MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment), acute psychiatric meds and withdrawal treatment medications.
- Conducts quality assurance monitoring and auditing to demonstrate compliance with inpatient and department policy and procedures, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Counseling patients on medications at discharge and during stay, providing information on drug interactions, side effects, and dosage and storage of medications.
- Assesses quality of services delivered and coordinates client care services with medical and clinical staff, and other programs/departments as needed.
- Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration by maintaining records of controlled substances, removing outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory, supervising the work results of support personnel, maintaining current registration, studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation and advising management on needed actions. Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Assists in interviewing and hiring support staff and on-the-job training for new personnel.
- Assists in development of policies and procedures, pharmacy/EMR interface, and special projects.
- Knowledge of diversity and inclusion with the relevant ability to engage, communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people of different backgrounds, identities, and culturally diverse communities
Required:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Colorado
- 5+ years of experience as a pharmacist required or completion of 1 year of a clinical pharmacy residency program
Preferred:
- PharmD preferred
- Experience in an inpatient pharmacy role preferred
- Experience working with behavioral health patients and/or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) settings preferred
- Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred
